CONCEPT

EN BORRADOR … teatro en construcción …

FIRST DRAFT … theater under construction

Photographs by Colleen Sullivan / Actor: Justin Perkins

It’s the temporary title of a soon to be created theatrical piece which whole concept is to start creating out of nothing, out of the blank page and an empty stage; which official title will come last. Principal themes are technology in the new world we’re living in, a world with no borders, a globalized new world; our constant search for somebody else to communicate with, we exist because we’re connected to others; the different tools and mediums we used to follow this search and how these can change the nature and characteristics of our relationships.

THREE CREATIVE GROUPS

1-      Mesa Colaboradora Nueva York – Collaborating artists NEW YORK

Multidisciplinary NY based theater artists getting together in individual meetings with the Director to discuss/brainstorm/give feedback/share ideas/ in order to create a plan, a map, a DBP before taking the project to a stage in Asunción Paraguay. This process is taking place from present February to be concluded by the end of May 2010.

2-      Mesa Colaboradora Paraguay – Collaborating artists PARAGUAY

Interdisciplinary Paraguayan artists outside of Theater per se, artists from Literature, Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Film and “hybrids” (can function in more than one discipline) getting together every other day to witness as a collaborating group what’s being created on stage. The goal again is to discuss/brainstorm/give feedback/share ideas/ in order to continue the creative process until opening night. This process will take place from June to beginning of August 2010.

3-      Multidisciplinary Performers Paraguay

Paraguayan artists on stage, creating and performing as an ensemble. This process will take place from June to beginning of August 2010.
